Quynh Nhu Nguyen ha conseguito la laurea di primo livello in Disegno Industriale presso il Politecnico di Torino nel 2010 e nel 2013 la laurea magistrale in Product Service System Design presso il Politecnico di Milano con la tesi “Trigger Set. A PSS that boosts creativity and fills the lack of a space suitable for collaborative and training workshop”. Nel 2014 ha vinto una borsa di studio per partecipare al corso “Restartup: tecniche di Design strategy e applicazioni e-commerce”, promosso dall’associazione Torino Design e Regione Piemonte, nell’ambito del quale ha avuto l’opportunità di fare un tirocinio presso ISMB sviluppando e prototipando uno SmartPoster con elementi applicati di gamification per sensibilizzare gli adolescenti sui temi della sicurezza informatica.

Ha svolto uno stage presso Xplora-lab, agenzia di consulenza strategica, come service designer, sviluppando tool per indagini qualitative e attività di focus group. Successivamente ha lavorato in un’agenzia di comunicazione B2B, Marcopolo srl, come project manager nell’ambito del branding, social media marketing, interaction design e trend research.

A partire da dicembre 2014 lavora presso l’Istituto Superiore Mario Boella come ricercatrice all’interno dell’Unità Mobile and Usability, dove si occupa in particolare degli aspetti sociali che riguardano le connessioni tra persone, luoghi fisici, oggetti e terminali nell’ambito dei progetti ODINO (gestione degli open data) e SnowBall (strumenti di supporto decisionale in situazioni di crisi). Le sue principali competenze riguardano: il service design, il design partecipativo e le user analysis, l’infovisualization, l’interaction design, il rapid prototyping e i social network.

Quynh Nhu Nguyen receveid the bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Torino in 2010 and the master’s degree in Product Service System Design at the Politecnico di Milano in 2013 with the thesis "Trigger Set. A PSS that boosts creativity and fills the lack of a suitable space for collaborative training and workshops". In 2014 she won a scholarship to attend the course “Restartup: Design Strategy and e-commerce applications”, promoted by Torino Design and Regione Piemonte, which gave her the opportunity to pursue an internship at ISMB developing and prototyping a SmartPoster with applied elements of gamification to raise cyber-risks awareness among teenagers.

In 2012 she took an internship at Xplora-lab, a strategic consultancy agency, as a service designer developing tools for qualitative surveys and focus group activities. Then she worked in a B2B communications agency, Marcopolo srl, as a project manager in the field of branding, social media marketing, interaction design and trend research.

Since December 2014 she has been working at the ISMB as researcher within the Mobile and Usability Unit with particular attention to social aspects, in terms of connections between people, physical places, objects and terminals. She is working on the ODINO (dealing with open data lifecycle framework) and SnowBall (which aim is to lower the impact of aggravating factors in crisis situations thanks to adaptive foresight and decision-support tools). Her main skills deal with: service design tools, participatory design and user analysis, infovisualization, interaction design and rapid prototyping, and social networks.
