ISMB will participate in the HiPEAC CSW-Autumn 2017

19 October 2017

The Advanced Computing and Electromagnetics Research Area, as partner and technical coordinator of the funded EU project OPERA - LOw Power Heterogeneous Architecture for NExt Generation of SmaRt Infrastructure and Platforms in Industrial and Societal Applications, will attend the HiPEAC CSW-Autumn 2017, that will take place in Stuttgart (Germany) from October25th to 27th.

During the event, the researchers Alberto Scionti and Olivier Terzo organise a thematic workshop titled "Heterogeneous and Low Power Architectures for the next Generation Cloud and Cyber-Physical Infrastructures".

Within the workshop will be presented the main results and technological solutions developed by OPERA partners, such as low power modular servers, FPGA-based acceleration boards, ultra-low power remote computing nodes, etc. Such technologies are the foundation bricks for implementing the next generation energy efficient data centers.

Also, representatives of other EU funded projects (M2DC, dRedBox, Vineyard) and the IT4Innovations supercomputing center will attend the workshop to share their research results and knowhow, regarding the high-performance energy efficient computing and interconnection technologies.
