UN/ICTP Workshop on the Use of GNSS for Scientific Applications

2 December 2014

Gabriella Povero from the Navigation Technologies Area is attending the Workshop on the Use of Global Navigation Satellite Systems for Scientific Applications held in Trieste, from the 1st to the 5th of December 2014. The event is organized by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), jointly with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). It is co-organized and co-sponsored by the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (ICG), with sponsorship from the United States of America and the European Commission.

The workshop is focused on the state-of-the-art of GNSS applications, with emphasis on the scientific exploration of the Earth's environment using GNSS. Today the head of International Cooperation on GNSS Research Unit at ISMB presented the Master on Navigation and Related Applications, a second level specializing master carried on by Politecnico di Torino with the support of ISMB, and its links with Growing NAVIS, a project focused on promoting the activities of the NAVIS collaboration Centre on GNSS in South-East Asia. In fact, thanks to the Master on Navigation many students from South-East Asia, and Vietnam in particular, studied in Turin.
