ISMB participates at the European Space Solutions

The 'European Space Solutions', a major 3-day conference from 5 to 7 November in Munich brings together business and the public-sector with users and developers of space-based solutions. Participants gathered to talk about current developments and society needs, learn how space technology can make a real difference to their lives/business, and get informed about business support and finance opportunities for business, SMEs, individuals. Vehicle navigation has been till now the main application of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).
But today, new trends are influencing the scenario: first, transport policies are more and more demanding in terms of low impact, seamless mobility and many ITS public-driven services are emerging, building on GNSS as one of the main enablers (e.g.: eCall, new road charging schemes, dangerous goods transport monitoring, innovative traffic management, etc). The vehicles will be more and more always connected relying on both embedded platforms embarked by car makers and on smart phones, stimulating innovative applications and business models.

Just about this  Fabrizio Dominici, head of Research Area Mobile Solution has made a presentation entitled "eCall: a better position can save lives" in the Plenary Session "Space solutions for Road & Traffic Management".

As a side event of the allo "European Space Solutions” has also played the “2nd EU-Asia Industry Collaboration Seminar” organized by whereGabriella Povero head of Unit in the Research Area Navigation Technologies presented, as coordinator, the project, G-Navis
